The second Punjabi International Film Festival (PIFF) 2013 is a roaring success!

In one of our recent article, we had mentioned how Canada is breaking all previous records for Punjabi Cinema, and now following on the same trend, PIFF 2013 recently concluded after five Days of films, community gatherings, and other events in Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Canada.

Started in 2012 with much fanfare, the 2nd edition of the film festival saw an even bigger turnaround. The festival screened several short films, feature films, panel discussions and a star night with Master Saleem. Some of the popular Punjabi stars who visited the festival were Gippy Grewal, Harbhajan Mann, Om Puri, Master Saleem, Pakistani actress Veena Malik and others. The festival also brought the three Deols of Bollywood, Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, who promoted their Bollywood film during the Festival.

The Festival's unique selling point (USP) is that it has no language bar. Any film with a Punjabi theme or a Punjabi team can send in their films for the festival.

Interestingly, PIFF was sponsored by the biggest of Canadian organizations like BMO, Koodo, Qatar Airways, Radisson, Omni, Rogers TV, Sheridan, etc.
